CLASS CHARACTERISTICS

The City of Stockton's Public Works Department is seeking to fill two part-time positions of the Project Manager I classification.


The Program Specialist - Project Manager I assigned to Traffic Engineering will assist the Neighborhood Traffic Management Program under general direction administering traffic calming projects. Other tasks may include developing project administration, computer applications, planning, fieldwork while operating City vehicle, organizing, preparing clear and concise reports, correspondence, and other written materials; customer service, making persuasive oral presentations of ideas, and/or other duties assigned.

The incumbent for the Traffic Engineering Division position will work approximately 30 hours a week and will work no more than 950 hours per fiscal year. The schedule is flexible within the City of Stockton business hours and as approved by the immediate supervisor. Occasional evening and weekend work is required. Once the incumbents have reached the total amount of allotted hours, their assignment will end for the fiscal year.


Prior to appointment, eligible candidates will be required to submit to and successfully pass a background investigation, which will include fingerprinting.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience:

Possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in engineering, business or public administration, or a closely related field and one (1) year of project leadership experience in government or engineering-related projects.

OR

Possession of an Associate's degree or completion of sixty (60) semester units or equivalent quarter hours from an accredited college or university with major course work in pre-engineering, business or public administration, or closely related field and three (3) years of project leadership experience in government or engineering-related projects.

Other Requirements
:

Specified positions may require possession of a valid California Class C Driver License.
